Doris Rothauer studied economics and art management in Vienna. Since 1986 she works as an art curator, art manager and consultant focussing on the intersection between art & economy as well as on the visual culture of the 21st century. Institutions she has been working for include the Museum of Modern Art, the Vienna Festival, the Viennese Secession. 1997-2002 she was artistic director and CEO of the Künstlerhaus Vienna. In 2006 she co-founded the “Büro für Transfer”, acting as consultant and project manager for different projects and companies that transfer creativity into business. She is regularly lecturing at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and is publishing frequently. She is the author of “Creativity & Capital. Art and Economy in radical change”, 2005.
