Last week ten well-designed objects were rewarded with Sweden’s greatest design award: Design S/Swedish Design Award. The Swedish Design Award promotes design which is useful.

Among the winners we could see the Stockholm Design Lab’s graphic design for the Japanese e-commerce company Askul’s products, which are glue sticks, copy papers, batteries etc. With a strong graphic solution the former diverse profile is now clean and commercial. Also the international well-known collective Claesson Koivisto Rune was awarded for a collection of bracelets for Collection Pascale. For the whole list of winners, see [ here ]

Another eight objects were nominated, for example a new clerical robe for the Swedish church, designed by Kollektivet. Beside the glory, winning or being nominated for the Swedish Design Award means the objects will be shown in an exhibition. The exhibition will tour around Sweden as well as in Germany, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Greece, the USA and China in the next two years. For tour dates see [ here ]

This is the second time that the Swedish Design Award was assigned. Svensk Form (the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design), SVID (the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation) and the Advertising Association of Sweden are the founders of the Design S/Swedish Design Award.
