  European Creative Industries  

This is the first European information platform on cultural and creative industries. We gather news on cultural policies and industries from across Europe and the whole world and publish them in three languages. The portal is based on a Europe-wide authors’ network: The authors provide information on current facts and trends in their respective countries.

6/30/2008: Design Special: ARIST Paris and German design(Published by Catherine Daraspe)

Creation, fashion and design industries play a strategic role for the economy of the Ile-de-France Region (urban agglomeration around Paris): they generate turnover and value added, create employment and reinforce the international radiation of the region. “Two third of the national employment in design and more than half the employment in fashion are located in Paris and its region. Concerning quality and competencies Paris is an even more important site as the majority and most renowned establishments are situated here.”

ARIST Paris (Agence Régionale d’Information Stratégique et Technologique) is a specialised service of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Engineers and analysts support entrepreneurs in structuring, quantification and validation of information and data which are important for their development on national and international level. ARIST works in close cooperation with the regional players of innovation, thus being well informed of the current evolutions in the creation, fashion and design industries.

In order to sensitize, inform, orientate and accompany students, creators, researchers, agencies and enterprises of these sectors ARIST Paris launched a new publication, which first edition focuses on design in Germany.
