| 7/14/2008: Portuguese Music Festival reunites the best of Portuguese music | (Published by Vera Dantas ) | Last weekend the Belém Cultural Center (CCB) in Lisbon hosted the biggest demonstration of Portuguese music ever performed in a Festival that celebrates Portuguese composers, music and musicians.
A total of 52 works of 48 composers, three orchestras, two ensembles, three chamber music concerts, 12 concerts of jazz (including two big bands), improvised and electronic music, in innovative formats and creations and six conferences made up the numbers of the event.
The Portuguese Music Festival aims to show the best that is made in Portuguese music in present times, passing through several music genres and listening to a great variety of propositions. Some of the best Portuguese musicians and music projects, from classical to jazz music, transformed the CCB auditoriums in a genuine display of what this country has to offer to the music world.
