| 11/28/2008: 17th Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid | (Published by Caroline Ceytte ) | The 17th Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid will be taking place in Paris from November 28th to December 7th 2008.
Unpublished works at the frontiers between new cinema and contemporary art, internationally renowned artists and filmmakers as well as young talents – after Madrid in May and Berlin in July the Rencontres offer an interesting space of discovery and reflection in the French capital. Besides numerous French cultural institutions such as the Centre Pompidou or the Jeu de Paume several foreign cultural establishments – Goethe Institute, Institute Cervantès, the Canadian, Swedish and Finnish cultural centres – will be hosting exhibitions and events.
Around 100 artists and filmmakers from all over the world are expected. The program features a significant part of previously unreleased film, video and multimedia works. A total of 200 works from France, Germany, Spain and other 60 countries is presented.
The event is supported by the city of Paris, the regional council (Conseil régional d’Ile-de-France) and the French Ministry of Culture. Media partner is the cultural TV channel ARTE.
